Malaysia Education System

been playing too much (wayyyyy to much to be honest. LMAO) game lately. nothing much to talk about raya. let’s move on shall we?

after reading a book written by Robert T.Kiyosaki, titled “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, my perspective towards Malaysia education system seems to become clearer. to be specific, changed. what I am going to say next is based on my personal opinions, so please accept it with an open mind.

I honestly think our education system right now is in critical condition. it need to be revamp. in today’s modern world, it’s not practical to be applied anymore. let us focus on primary and secondary education. today, children spend years in an antiquated educational system, studying subjects they will never use, preparing for a world that no longer exists. today, in order to survive we need money. (for those who oppose this idea, you are practically lying to yourself ). think about it, can we survive without money? the answer is pretty clear, NO!

the thing is, children nowadays are not being thought about the importance of money in school. most of the subjects that are being taught right now are pretty much useless once we enter into the real world. tell me how many of them are actually being applied? very few.

our education system need to focus more on educating the children to be financially literate. ask a person to differentiate between an asset and a liability, only a few can answer it correctly. why? because they have no knowledge about it, they are not financially literate. that is why lots of people end up as a low-middle income earner. they work for money instead of making money working for them. for those who have no idea on how to make money works for us, let me give you a simple explanation. it is money being generated for us, even when we weren’t physically there. got it? no? go google too find out more.

I am sure almost every person in this world wants to be rich. who doesn’t? but in order to do that, we need to be financially literate. the rule is simple, know the difference between an asset and a liability, and buy an asset. this rule may sound absurdly simple, but most people have no idea how profound this rule is. most people struggle financially because they do not know the difference between an asset and a liability. before I read the book, I used to think that owning a house is actually owning an asset. but I was wrong. owning a house is actually a liability. you must be wondering why? LOL. I highly suggest you to read the book that I mentioned to you earlier to find out why.

according to the book’s author , there are rules of money that the rich play by, and there are the rules that the other 95 percent of the population plays by, and the 95 percent learns those rules at home and in school. That is why it's risky today to simply say to a child, `Study hard and look for a job.' A child today needs a more sophisticated education, and the current system is not delivering the goods.

what I think we should do is, we need to incorporate more financial related subjects such as accounting, cost accounting, financial analysis and etc. and make it a core subject. teach the children these kind of subjects early on, since primary school. we can start with the basic, and slowly move on to a much more difficult part. scrap all the unnecessary subjects like geography, music, malay essay and etc. those are useless. the children can always learn that kind of subject all by themselves, at home.

then again, this is only my personal opinions. as the world keeps moving forward, so does the need to keep ourselves updated. by sticking to the old education system, the children are actually lagging behind, instead of moving forward.

to tell you the truth, I am worried about our country condition right now. back in the 60’s, we were among the leading Asian countries. we are way ahead of country such as Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam etc. but now, take for example, if we compared Malaysia with Singapore, it’s like comparing the earth and the sky. such a vast differences. in terms of what? well, everything. if you don’t believe me, you can always check the WCR. never heard of it? it stands for World Competitiveness Report. but don’t be surprise when you take a look at it. open your mind, embrace the information’s being thrown at you and start thinking. good luck on that! =)

persoalannya..berapa ramai org yg nak study sendiri tu?
subjek yg tgh belaja pon lom tentu dia study..

that depends on their own initiative.

the rule is simple, study hard if u want to become somebody in this world.

don't study hard if u could't care less what kind of person u want to become in the future.
